The fine print, kept plain
Privacy Policy
Tidy Desk VA is a small business run by me, Kate Mitchell, from Busselton in WA. This page explains what personal information I collect through this website and my work, why I collect it, and how I look after it.
Last updated 4 November 2026
What I collect
I only collect what I need, and only what you choose to give me:
- When you get in touch: your name, email address and anything you include in your message, through my contact form or by email.
- When you play Admin Sins: your name, email address and game result. If you confess an admin sin, I also collect what you write, your Instagram handle if you add it, and whether you're happy for me to share it.
- When we work together: the details from my onboarding and check-in forms, like your contact details, business name and address (for invoicing), how you like to work, and anything you choose to share in the optional "fun bit".
- When you visit the site: my website platform, Squarespace, uses cookies and collects basic information like your browser, device and the pages you visit, so the site works properly and I can see how it's being used.
Why I collect it
- To reply to your enquiry.
- To show you your Admin Sins result and send you the breakdown.
- To send you the occasional email, if you've given me your email through Admin Sins. You can unsubscribe any time.
- To share your confessed admin sin on Instagram or a future bingo card, but only if you've ticked the box to say that's fine.
- To set up and deliver my services, invoice you, and keep good records.
- To keep my website running well.
Where it's stored
Your information is stored using trusted tools I use to run my business, including Squarespace, Google Workspace (Gmail, Forms and Sheets), Formspree and Xero. Some of these providers store data overseas, including in the United States. I choose reputable providers and keep my accounts secure.
Who I share it with
I don't sell, rent or trade your personal information. I only share it with the service providers above so they can do their job, or if the law requires me to.
Client information
When I work in your systems, like your Xero, inbox or CRM, I treat everything I can see as confidential. I only access what I need to do the work, and I don't keep copies longer than I need to. The details are covered in our working agreement.
How long I keep it
I keep your information for as long as I need it for the reasons above, or as long as I'm required to by law, for example tax and financial records. After that, I delete it.
Your choices
- You can ask to see the information I hold about you, or ask me to correct or delete it.
- You can unsubscribe from my emails any time, using the link in the email or by letting me know.
- You can set your browser to block or delete cookies, though some parts of the site may not work as well.
Questions or concerns
If you have a question about your privacy, or you're not happy with how I've handled your information, email me at hello@tidydeskva.com.au and I'll get back to you within 30 days.
If you're still not happy, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
